FAT Body Positivists Win (in the short term)
“After reviewing the complaint, we quickly removed the plates, which were only in our … Macy’s location in Herald Square” -a Macy’s spokesperson. I guess they are trying to apologize.
Round #1: Macy’s loses and Alie Ward Wins!! Macy’s CEO Jeff Gennette; President Hal Lawton; Merchandising Officer Patti Ongman are on their knees praying for forgiveness. Huffington Post’s Jenna Amatulli Van wrote about it and Alie Ward, who attacked these mean-spirited people, is celebrating by eating 12 Donuts and 10 kale salads (aka kale gluttony).
The president of Pourtions (the brand who made the plates), Mary Cassidy, told HuffPost that the brand feels badly if their plates, which were “meant to be a lighthearted take on the important issue of portion control,” were “hurtful to anyone.” (Should wimpy Millenials get the last word?) Pourtions website accurately states, “While it’s easy to demonize foods, beverages and empty calories, I came to believe (like many others) that portion size was also a main culprit.”
Let’s be clear. HUMOR and fat don’t mix. This small group of people say they are being shamed. Small. Does fatness affect math abilities too? This small number is 50% of the US population who are OBESE and another 20% heading there are.
Of course, this is only Round #1. Unless these Body Positivity folks are atheists, they know they are in trouble. I‘m betting they are Christians which means they are committing one of the SEVEN deadly sins — two if you count Sloth. Even more deadly, if you read the fine print: “any of them gives birth to other immoralities.”
“The seven deadly sins, also known as the capital vices, the seven traits of man, or cardinal sins, is a grouping and classification of vices within Christian teachings[1]Habits are classified under this category if they directly give birth to other immoralities.[2] According to the standard list, they are pride, greed, lust, envy, gluttony, wrath and sloth,[2]which are also contrary to the seven heavenly virtues. These sins are often thought to be abuses or excessive versions of one’s natural faculties or passions (for example, gluttony abuses one’s desire to eat).”
If you are Christian, you know what this means. Your get-out-of-hell card won’t be punched, so for the long term, so you won’t be on the winning team where it counts.
1 Corinthians 15:32b: “Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die.”
But seriously, this is just a distraction. All the BPP know that the BIG Health Insurance Companies are going to soon institute FAT surcharges. Waistline 35” for female and 40” for males.
