EIGHTY-FIVE YEARS OF WATCHING
I remember before this.
I remember when Weight Watchers began in 1963.
I remember when “diet food” meant cottage cheese and Tab.
I remember when most people were not large.
Not perfect. Not ripped. Not keto.
Just normal.
Something changed.
We industrialized eating.
We normalized snacking.
We branded eating.
We turned appetite into a market sector.
And now I sit on an airplane at almost 85 years old —
5’6”, 125 pounds —
and I am the statistical anomaly.
Not because I eat kale.
Not because I count antioxidants.
Not because I fear gluten.
Because I never trained my stomach to be bottomless.
THIS IS NOT A NUTRITION CRISIS.
Americans are not dying because they forgot kiwi.
They are dying because they never stop eating.
You can argue about protein.
You can argue about carbs.
You can argue about seed oils and raw milk and lectins and superfoods.
It doesn’t matter.
If you eat 250 bites a day, your body adapts to 250 bites.
If you snack all day, your hormones adapt to all day.
If you binge, your brain adapts to binge.
This is training.
OBESITY DID NOT FALL FROM THE SKY.
It followed:
Constant availability
Giant portions
“Healthy” volume eating
Moralizing ingredients
Zero limits on quantity
We told people:
“Eat more plants.”
“Load up your plate.”
“Low fat!”
“High protein!”
“Eat every three hours!”
No one said:
Stop eating so much.
I USED TO TALK ABOUT QUALITY.
Fiber. Freshness. Real food.
Two years ago I still believed we could tweak the ingredients.
But when the majority of a plane cannot comfortably fit in a seat, this is not a micronutrient debate.
This is a threat to our national security because our energy usage is twice what it should be. And oil sellers are not on our side.
Retrain volume and capacity before we have to make to many compromises to get OIL.
THE FIX IS NOT COMPLICATED.
Eat what you want.
But:
Fewer bites.
Fewer eating events.
No grazing.\No “healthy” binging.
Do not crash calories into the basement.
Do not punish the body.
Just stop overfilling it.
Over time:
Appetite quiets.
Cortisol settles.
Insulin stabilizes.
Capacity shrinks.
And get a GLP-1 to retrain appetite signaling, It’s a tool and with 80Bites.com and Parasetter® you have what you need to fix your hormones.
This is NOT Criticism.
THIS IS WITNESS.
I have watched sixty years of diet wars.
I have watched TRILLIONS spent telling people what to eat.
No one ever told them when to stop.
If we do not retrain quantity,
we will not fix this.
Not with kale.
Not with cupcakes.
Not with supplements.
Not with slogans.
Fewer bites.
That is not hard now that we have Ozempic in a pill. That’s why obesity became a disease since the Medical Establishment knows it is necessary to get insurance companies to pay.

This is striking, Joan. I appreciate the clarity of calling this training, not mystery or moral failure. Framing it as witness rather than blame makes the message land much harder.
